Workshop on Developing Internationally Recognized Research Outputs
Denpasar, Monday, June 8, 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, through its Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M), organized a Workshop on Developing Internationally Recognized Research Outputs. Held at the MM Building, 3rd Floor, FEB Udayana University Sudirman Campus, the academic event featured Dr.Eng. Ir. Sunu Wibirama, S.T., M.Eng., IPM. as the keynote speaker, a prominent expert with extensive experience in research, international scientific publication, and technological integration within academia.
This workshop was initiated to enhance the capacity of lecturers and researchers within the academic community to generate high-quality research outputs that yield a broader global impact and attain international recognition. Amidst the rising demands for reputable scientific publications and rapid advancements in digital technology, mastering effective publication strategies has become an indispensable competency for modern researchers.
In the first session, titled “Strategies for International Research Outputs,” the speaker outlined various strategic approaches to elevating research quality and maximizing publication opportunities in reputable international journals. The core material covered: Strategies for selecting relevant research topics with distinct novelty, Systematic mapping of appropriate target journals, Structuring scientific manuscripts that meet rigorous international standards, and Enhancing research visibility and impact through academic collaboration and global research networks.
Participants also gained invaluable insights into common challenges faced during the peer-review process alongside practical techniques to increase manuscript acceptance rates.
The subsequent session addressed the highly relevant theme, “Responsible Use of AI in Scientific Publication.” The speaker explained that the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has unlocked diverse opportunities to streamline the research workflow—from automated literature searching and data analysis to manuscript drafting and refining academic writing quality. However, he emphasized that AI integration must strictly adhere to the core tenets of ethics, transparency, academic integrity, and ultimate researcher accountability.
“AI is an excellent tool to boost research productivity, but it can never replace the human researcher’s role in generating critical thinking, absolute originality, and genuine scientific contributions.”
Beyond the core presentations, the workshop featured an interactive discussion and an intensive article draft coaching session. During this segment, participants were given the opportunity to consult one-on-one regarding their ongoing manuscripts. The consultations provided tailored feedback covering research substance, structural organization, targeted publication strategies, and the ethical leverage of technological tools in the writing process.
Through this workshop, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University, solidifies its commitment to fostering high-quality, globally competitive research and scientific publications. This initiative is highly expected to strengthen academic capacity, elevate the institution's international standing, and champion the responsible adoption of technology to drive scientific advancement and innovation in higher education.
