FEB UNUD Master of Management Program organizes community service activities

The Master of Management Study Program (PSMM) FEB UNUD held a Community Service (PKM) activity on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in Kuwum Village, Marga, Tabanan, Bali. The theme of the activity is assistance and capacity building in the financial sector for BUMDes Panca Sadhu Kuwum Village, Marga Tabanan.

The activity began with a welcome speech by Mr. I Gede Putu Adhi Putra Adiksa, SH, as Secretary representing Marga Sub-District Head and Mr. I Putu Yoga Andika, ST, as Perbekel Desa Kuwum, and was opened by the chairman of the activity committee, Mrs. Dr. Ni Ketut Seminari, S.E., M.Si.

As a speaker at this mentoring activity was Mrs. Dr. Sayu Ketut Sutrisna Dewi, S.E., M.M., Ak., a member of the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI) Bali as well as a lecturer at PSMM FEB Unud. The first thing discussed was related to financial management, and it was stated that the most common problems that arise from financial management are related to capital. The speaker also mentioned that there are four areas of financial management, namely: personal finance, entrepreneurial finance, corporate finance, and public finance. When conducting financial responsibility, it must refer to the legal basis, namely PP No. 11 of 2021 Article 27 Paragraph 2 and Accounting Standards (SAK), but in Bumdes it is sufficient to use SAK EMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Entities). The preparation of financial statements has a significant difference between financial management and accounting; accounting people are tasked with recording transactions from recording to the ledger, while financial management people are tasked with thinking about financial decisions from accounting results.

The resource person also stated that BUMdes are established with certain capital that has the aim of making the money bigger or making a profit; this is done by running business activities. We can evaluate whether the business activities are profitable or not by comparing the previous year's wealth with the current year.

The activity, which was attended by village officials and the management of BUMDes Panca Sadhu Desa Kuwum, totaling 30 people, ended with questions and answers and enthusiastic discussion by all participants. The Village Apparatus and BUMDes Management hope that similar sustainable mentoring activities can be carried out again in the future.
