Winning the Champion in the Local Marketing Competition 2021 Udayana University

For the economic community, of course, they are already familiar with the Marketing Competition. Many students of the economics faculty are eyeing this type of competition because the competition is at the national level and the participants are all over Indonesia. Exactly on December 4, 2021, the name of the Lokalate Marketing Competition was held by BEM PM Udayana University. There were 13 teams that took part in the Marketing Competition and to get a winner, therefore, of course, the participants fought very hard to win.


The student from the essay competition was named I Made Kelvin Indra Setiawan from the Management'20 study program. Kelvin said that he was very happy because he could participate in the competition that was held. In the midst of this pandemic, there is no reason for Kelvin to lose enthusiasm in participating in this Marketing Competition and Kelvin won 2nd place. Kelvin also said about "the competition preparation process, of course, my team and I look for competition information first through social media, then review the competition material and make systematic writing, brainstorming, research, mutual back-up, meeting (if time is not constrained), and start the preparation of the results of brainstorming and research. After completion, it can be checked first if there is still enough time. Yesterday's competition was quite surprising because the field of competition itself is quite different but still relates to the competitions that are usually followed, of course the problem for me and the team is time management because coincidentally, my team and I are busy with things that must be prioritized. So, we use the minimum time possible but provide the maximum possible output from the submission deadline. The preparation method for the competition itself may not be much different from the preparation of people, of course, build commitment, form chemistry, increase cooperation, and have good discussions”.


“The message I want to convey is, after participating in the competition, of course, while you can and have free time to participate in the competition, you can take the opportunity before entering the final semester. It doesn't matter if you don't win, the most important thing is that you have the courage to try and give your best. To win, don't always make it a priority, but make it a motivation to give your best. “My impression when participating in the activity is that I am definitely very happy because I can participate in the competitions that are held and of course the achievements obtained will continue to be a motivation for future competitions. Kelvin's motivation for this Marketing Competition is that he wants to gain experience in the academic field in particular, open new insights from the competitions that he participated in, want to measure abilities outside of the specialization that I took in the Management Study Program, and want to think critically through problem solving and brainstorming.


This academic achievement is expected to be a motivation and reflection for all students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University to continue to be productive and achieve achievements in both academic and non-academic fields. In addition, the pandemic does not become a barrier for students to continue to make achievements and make their alma mater proud.
