International Community Service: FEB Unud’s 59th Anniversary

In commemoration of its 59th Anniversary, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University (FEB Unud), organized an International Community Service program themed “Waste to Wealth: Scaling Up Community-Based Circular Enterprises through Maggot Innovation, Organic Compost Value Creation, and Digital Commerce.” The activity took place at TPS 3R Pudak Mesari, Darmasaba, Abiansemal, Badung, Bali, on Friday, August 21, 2026.

The initiative actively involved faculty members and international students as part of an effort to promote innovative waste management solutions while creating economic value for the local community.

Through this program, participants were introduced to the potential of waste management within the framework of a circular economy. Key approaches presented to support sustainable community-based enterprises included black soldier fly (maggot) cultivation, organic waste conversion into value-added compost, and the adoption of digital commerce platforms.

This International Community Service program served as a strategic platform for FEB Unud to reinforce the university's role in community empowerment, particularly through the application of academic research and innovation in economics and entrepreneurship.

By promoting the "Waste to Wealth" concept, the program aimed to raise public awareness that waste is not solely an environmental challenge, but a viable resource capable of yielding economic returns and opening new business opportunities.

Through this collaborative synergy among academics, international students, and the local community, FEB Unud reaffirms its commitment to driving sustainable waste management solutions that deliver lasting environmental and economic benefits.
